Jean-Claude Quilici - Collection Corridas

And, there in the middle of the circle wich resumes the tragic splendor of the Mediterranean, Quilici measures up to the Corrida, that is to say the eternal fight of man and beast , of light and shadow, corresponding to what the artist feels within himself.

Indeed, Quilici's works owes its strengh and originality to his technical capacity and to the light effects he projects on nature. But, they also owe much to an heritage embodied within him which he revealed to modern expression. Having retained and adapted the lessons of the great lanscapes masters of southern France, Jean-Claude Quilici incarnates today, provencal expressionism of which he is unquestionnably the best representative.
